Centering Prayer Group at St. Paul’s is a facilitated gathering in the chapel and takes place on Tuesday’s from 12:00 p.m. This gathering lasts for about 30 minutes. It is open for anyone to attend as often as they like.
Centering Prayer is a method of silent prayer or contemplative prayer, in which we experience God’s presence with us. Sitting quietly in the presence of God is as old as Christianity itself, but the practices of centering prayer were articulated for modern people of faith in the writings of Thomas Keating, a Roman Catholic priest and cistercian monk.
Centering prayer at St. Paul’s is a place for all God’s people: whether you are familiar to this practice or it’s new to you, whether you think you’re “good” at praying or not, all are welcome.
