Baptism
In the waters of baptism, we are lovingly adopted by God into God’s family, which we call the Church, and given God’s own life to share and reminded that nothing can separate us from God’s love in Christ. Holy Baptism, which can be performed through pouring of water or immersion in it, marks a formal entrance to the congregation and wider Church; the candidates for the sacrament make a series of vows, including an affirmation of the Baptismal Covenant, and are baptized in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are marked as Christ’s own for ever, having “clothed [themselves] with Christ” (Galatians 3:27). All people of any age are welcome to baptized in the Episcopal Church.
If you would like to be baptized, or have a child to be baptized, contact our priest.
Confirmation
Confirmation is the sacramental rite in which a Christian expresses a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop. Confirmation is for youth and adults, and takes place each year when our bishop, Bp. Brian Cole, makes his visitation to the parish.
If you have questions about confirmation, please contact the church office.
Membership
Please contact the church office to become a member at St. Paul’s. If you are already a confirmed member of another Episcopal parish, we will transfer your information to our files. If you are joining us from a different church tradition or no church tradition, we will simply add your information to our files. You do not have to be a confirmed Episcopalian to be a member of our parish and an active participant in the life of the church.
The Christian life calls us to much more than baptism, membership, and even Sunday morning worship. As baptized followers of Jesus we commit to serve all persons and work for justice, serving the community around us. We commit to grow in our faith through continuous learning and reading scripture. We commit to fellowship with one another: praying, eating, worshipping, and spending time with others. There are many opportunities to serve, learn, and connect with St. Paul’s. If you would like to learn more and discern how God is calling you to serve, learn, and connect, please contact our priest.
