Volunteerism
Love, Period. activities are managed across multiple committees. Contact us at loveperiod@stpaulsathens.org to help out in your area of interest!
Fundraising: The goals of the fundraising committee are to identify and apply for grants, design and purchase swag and merchandise for Love, Period., planning and organizing fundraising events throughout the year, stewardship, and acquiring new donors.
Partnerships and growth: The goals of the partnership and growth committee are to work with community partners, develop new community partnerships, and determine and coordinate the placement of new dispensers and caddies.
Purchasing/distribution: The goals of the purchasing and distribution committee are to buy and acquire product (period.org, Aunt Flow, Amazon, Walmart, etc.), buy small stickers and bags, pack product (individually and organizing packing parties), refill Table Graces, Period Palace, and other community dispensers, and caddies, and provide a monthly distribution report. This committee shall be in charge of all distribution locations - including but not limited to community and school venues. As part of the role of this committee, a list should be maintained that includes contact information for all school and community distribution location contacts.
Community Relations and Public Visibility: The goal of the community relations and public visibility committee is to manage the Love, Period. Website, create and manage social media posts and accounts, acquire information regarding local festivals and promote Love, Period. at these events (i.e., Moo-Fest, Pumpkintown, Christmas on the Square, etc), coordinate and publicize the book club, manage monthly emails/regular communication via listserv, and communicate to the Vestry and Priest of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church the ongoing operations of Love, Period.
Appreciation/Kindness Committee: The goal of the appreciation and kindness committee is to maintain warm relationships with our donors and menstruators throughout our community. This includes purchasing and sending thank you notes (order postcards, fold-over notecards, and stamps), engaging in random acts of appreciation/kindness, letters to menstruators in community/church, acquiring, packing, and distributing bags for the local jail (for women upon release), and provide/organize food for events (Sunday school, bookclub, and other meetings/educational programs).
Educational Programming and Advocacy: The goal of the educational programming and advocacy committee is to develop and maintain programming that works towards our goals of ending period poverty, promoting period equity, ending period stigma, and/or promoting the human dignity of all people.
Finance Committee: The goal of the finance committee is to work with the Treasurer to maintain financial records. This will include maintaining separate accounts/lines for any grants/designated gifts.
